SNAPPER REVIEWED

Queenslands Snapper review released and its impact on Brisbane Fishing Charters.
As from 1 September Max 4 Snapper 1 only over 70cm. After spending hundreds and thousands of dollars on public consultations, unnecessary closures and marketing  - a big fat nothing. To be reviewed in 2014 -  what will change?  Nothing,  still no certainty for commercial and charter operaters.  Still no reliable data collection, still no unity with bordering NSW, still nothing to address pollution and over developement.
Sunfish have been fairly quiet with the news of this release.  Has there been any "back room" deals between Sunfish and our Green Labour Party?  This release has been a big back flip from the Labour Party and nothing to do with fish management, just trying to save votes for the next election.  With the stroke of a pen we could be back to square one.
On The Fishing Front:
We're catching some really nice Snapper since moving to Brisbane, infact we have boated more Snapper in the last 6 weeks than the last 2 years on the Gold Coast, just goes to show that Snapper data used from the Gold Coast region is not a true indication of the state of the Snapper fishery in South East Queensland.
